Dr. Howhoa Moon
Adjunct Professor, Korea University, Seoul, South Korea
Dr. Hiwhoa Moon is the president of Chungmu Forum, a leading political forum in Korea, while teaching global and Korean economies at Graduate School of International Studies, Korea University in Seoul, as an adjunct professor. He also served as a professor and Dean of School of Economy and International Trade, KyungheeUniversity in Seoul. He also taught as an adjunct professor, at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), ColumbiaUniversity in New York.
He has extensive public service experiences including the role as Deputy Minister for Economic Policy Coordination at the Prime Minister’s Office in Seoul, President, Korea Productivity Center, President, Korean Institute for Industrial Economy and Trade, Chairman of the Board for Asia Productivity Organization (APO), an international organization comprising 18 Asian member governments, which has its secretariat in Tokyo, and the country economist for Turkey, Greece, and Israel at the World Bank in Washington, D.C.
Besides, Dr. Moon has held another long list of honorary public positions including the membership of the Presidential Commission for Bioethics, member of the board for Korea Electric Power Company, Korea Gas Corporation, and Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, and member for Korea Tax Reform Commission, and Director, Department of Economics and Science, Government Reform Commission.
Time magazine described Dr. Moon as one of the 5 most noted economists in Korea (August 1988).
