Torbjørn Gjelstad

Torbjørn Gjelstad is Managing Director in TG Consult. Prior to his current role he worked as a Senior Client Partner with Korn Ferry based in Oslo heading the four Nordic countries doing Executive Search and Leadership and Talent Consulting on CEO and board level.

He came to Korn Ferry as part of Korn Ferry’s acquisition of PA Recruitment in 2000. During his four years in PA Recruitment, he was responsible for the executive search and selection business in Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, the UK and Ireland.

From 1995 to 1996, Mr. Gjelstad worked for KPMG, heading their managing consulting activities in Norway. Prior to this, he worked out of London for two and a half years as an executive director and member of the board for Jebsen’s Thun Shipping. There he worked with the CEO, formulating the company’s total strategy and policy with line management responsibility for 2800 people.

Prior to that, he was a Management Consultant for PA Consulting Group, planning and implementing change processes in companies, restructuring business scope, implementing new organizational structures and developing and providing management training. From 1979 to 1982, he worked as the Human Resources Manager for Sandegruppen AS (a construction company), with responsibility for over 1,000 employees in Bergen, Trondheim and Harstad. He was later involved in the purchase and integration of a second construction company with 3000 employees and in the internationalization of the company.

Torbjørn Gjelstad holds a Master’s degree in psychology from the University of Oslo.
